Equality's Call - Book Giveaway!

Quick update 10/19/20: My first use of rafflecopter was a bit of a learning curve for me. The giveaway that I thought was ending end of 10/19 closed automatically at the end of 10/18.  Oops!  I've pulled a winner for that, but I've also added a new giveaway so that anyone finding this just now still has a chance.  If you didn't win the first drawing, it's OK to enter the new one, too.

Welcome to my new blog!

A few things to mention before I get to the giveaway.

This Equality's Call blog will feature ideas and suggestions for using Equality's Call throughout the year in the classroom and at home. The topic of voting rights is relevant and important not just at election time, but at any time.

The book can be used to help young people explore history, democracy, civil rights, and activism. It can also serve as an entry point for discussing contemporary events.

You can find many Equality's Call resources at my web site, and I will be adding to those resources on an ongoing basis. As I add, I'll post updates here about those new materials.

I will also periodically host guest bloggers here on this blog, to share and discuss their experiences using Equality's Call in their classroom, school, or home.  If you're interested in guest-blogging, please let me know.

Now, onto the giveaway info!

Equality's Call can be purchased through your favorite local bookstore or through online retailers, or checked out at your local library, but at the moment, due to more demand than copies available, I understand that in some places the book is out-of-stock and backordered. Rest assured, there will be plenty of copies available again soon (a new shipment is expected mid-November), and since the topic of voting rights is an important one year round, you will have plenty of opportunity to use the book.

But I did want to do a giveaway prior to the election, given that many classrooms and families are currently discussing voting and voting rights. So I've got a giveaway that ends Oct. 19 Oct 23. I will mail the winner a copy by media mail, sending it out no later than Oct. 26 (and probably before that).

If for some reason the widget below is not working, please let me know. Also, I tried to avoid any of the "here's a million things you can do to increase your odds" options that Rafflecopter gives, so the entry widget should only ask for your name and email -- but it that's not the case, let me know that as well. Bit of a learning curve for me!

Let me know what you think of Rafflecopter as a giveaway sign-up method. I went with it because it seemed like a simple method for conducting the giveaway - but if it's not user-friendly for those of you entering, I'll find a new method for future giveaways.

The only limitation is that I can mail to U.S. addresses only, so please no outside-of-the-U.S. entries.
